Displaying Email Content from IMAP in a lightbox

i wrote a script which imports the email bodies into a database. So far so good.

Now I have a display issue, cause the Email correspondance is mixed html/text. How can I tell javascript or php to convert the text part to html to show the whole email in a correct way?

Would be great if you could help me...
