Change the bootstrap container class according to size

I have a div with a class="container" in bootstrap which contains my horizontal menu, but I want to display my menu full width when the screen size is larger than 960px, So I removed the "container" class and set the div to 100%.

But when it is open in any mobile device I want to switch to container class again. So it can maintain a proper margin.

Is it possible to achieve without the help of javascript?
